Earth Day was initially started in 1970 as a way to promote clean living and to create a healthy, sustainable habitat for everyone to enjoy.

What Are Some Common Ways That People Celebrate Earth Day

There are many different ways that people celebrate Earth Day. You can…

  • Ride your bike more and drive cars less. Riding bikes is a great physical activity for children to enjoy.
  • Consider recycling more of your waste as a way to reuse materials and prevent build-up in landfills. A neat idea for recycling could be to recycle cardboard and make a small bird feeder.
  • Conserve water when possible.
  • Plant a new flower or tree.
  • Create birdseed ornaments with your kids.
  • You could make an Earth Day Fizzy Science Experiment. Use distilled white vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring to create an Earth shape in a pan that looks like the land and water. Pour the vinegar over the baking soda and food coloring solution to create a super fun kids activity experiment.
  • Create a fun Earth Day water bubble blowing activity that resembles the ocean. In this post, we show you exactly how to do this!

  • Water.
  • A container or bin that is safe and won’t break.
  • A clear hose or aquarium hose to blow bubbles. You can pick this up from the store or pet store.
  • A dish soap. We used Dawn soap for this activity.

How To Make The Bubble Blowing Sensory Bin

  • Add water into the container or bin about halfway up.
  • Next, add in a couple of drops of food coloring.
  • Add a few squirts of dish soap into the water bin.
  • Stir the mixture in the container well.
