Valentine’s Day Home Depot Tic Tac Toe Craft Kit
Valentine’s Day Home Depot Wood Tic Tac Toe Game
We wish you a very Happy Valentine’s Day! In celebration of the holiday, we decided to put together the Valentine Tic Tac Toe wooden kids project that was offered by our local Home Depot store.
We have been enjoying the Home Depot Kids Projects for a couple of years now and we were taking our son in-store to put the kits together before the pandemic.
Luckily for us, Home Depot is still making the wooden kids projects available to pick up in-store for you to do at home.
Doing the projects in the store was super fun because you can see the kids all do their projects together in-store and they can interact together, which was a treat.
Doing them at home is still great because any project that is already put together and comes with instructions is such a relief for busy parents. Added plus, we can do them at home at leisure and at a time that is feasible for the family. Each project comes with all necessary pieces to create the craft project and Home Depot has it well thought out. The only thing that parents need to provide is the paint and tools for putting the project together.
Putting The Tic Tac Toe Game Together
Assembling the game is relatively simple. You follow the included instructions given within the wooden kit. Below we show the steps that we took to assemble the board game.
- The first thing you will need to do is nail the wooden box frame pieces together in the pre-drilled locations. There are three sides that each have a pre-routed groove and one smaller wooden piece that make up the four sides of the wooden frame.
2. Once the four sides are assembled you will install the bottom plate to the underside. The kit includes smaller nails and a pre-drilled wood plate that you nail to the bottom of the wooden frame.
3. Paint the box red or the color palette of your liking along with the included sliding wood plate pink. It notes in the instructions that you should not paint the grooves of the wooden box as the plate needs to slide on this.
4. You will need to paint five of the wooden cylinder pieces red and five of the cylinder pieces pink for the game pieces.
5. The last thing that you need to do is to apply the stickers to each of the tops of the game cylinder pieces and the pink plate sticker to the slide plate.
Overall, this wooden tic tac toe game was relatively easy to put together. Our son is not quite able to do the project without help but he still had a lot of fun with the process and playing the game when we were done! We were able to create this project together as a family in the comfort of our home. We are so thankful for Home Depot for providing these projects and having some normalcy and variety in a child’s life.
Let us know down in the comments if you’ve ever done the Home Depot kids projects and what projects your kids have enjoyed!
