Unicorn Tic Tac Toe Free Printable
National Unicorn Day is April 9th, 2021 and it celebrates the mythical horse-like creature with a pointed horn growing from the center of its head. Unicorns have long been associated with ancient Greek mythology as strong and fierce animals, however, now they are more associated with love, enchantment, and magic.
What is really interesting to me is that the Unicorn is actually Scotland’s national animal! According to Celtic mythology, the unicorn was a symbol of purity and innocence, as well as power.
Some Ideas On How To Observe National Unicorn Day
- Bake some cookies that are in the shape of a unicorn and then decorate them with icing and bright colored candy sprinkles.
- Read your children a fantasy novel or story that has unicorns in it.
- Watch a movie or television show with your kids that have unicorns in it.
- Draw pictures or color drawings of unicorns.
How To Use The Unicorn Tic Tac Toe Game
The Unicorn tic tac toe game can be used in a couple of ways.
The first way you can use this game is to simply play tic tac toe. The game is played only with two players that each choose a playable character. One player will go first by placing their character onto the tic tac toe grid. Then the next player will place a character in an open playable grid space. Play continues until one player has lined up three in a row either from horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. Play will also end in a stalemate if no player is able to line up three in a row.
Another game that can be played with the characters is a memory game. Take two of each playable character, turn them over and shuffle them to create a random order. Flip over one player card and then try to match the player by flipping over another square. As your children match the characters remove them from play.
